Ramon di Loria was the standout from yesterday, keeping on well and scoring at 15/2. Invincible Spirit was again disappointing, while Believe In Lies found the frame. It was one of Desiderata's better days, but he couldn't quite reach Simon West's Hijo De La Luna, who won at 11/1. Newcastle and Southwell provide the action today. Here are a few to consider. Newcastle 2.42 AMERJEET 4.42 INSTANT BOND Southwell 5.00 HOMER STOKES 6.00 GLENDOWN (ew) 7.30 LION RING The highlight of the day should be Homer Stokes, who returns after a good run at Wolverhampton, where he just failed to catch Von Krolock, who was beaten by Ramon di Loria last night. Instant Bond and Glendown are good each-way chances, while Amerjeet is worth sticking with after a decent performance 2 weeks ago.  Lion Ring comes up against Sir Benedict again who is weighted to win this time. We have a meeting at Wolverhampton today and here are a few to consider..... Wolverhampton 4.25 INVINCIBLE MELODY - I was really impressed with him a fortnight ago here when just beaten by Bomb Squad over 7f. Although he disappointed at Chelmsford on Saturday evening, I will give him another chance as I'm convinced there is a win in him. 6.00 RAMON DI LORIA - Won over 6f here a fortnight ago and could well follow up. 6.30 BELIEVE IN LIES - Nammos will take some beating here, but David Barron's 5yo mare is fully capable of doing so. 7.30 DESIDERATA - Another one who blows hot and cold. A very uninspiring day yesterday, which has already been forgotten. Today we have cards at Lingfield and Newcastle to digest. Lingfield Park 12.50 ROLAND GARROS (ew) - Today's somewhat speculative choice comes back from wind surgery and wears cheekpieces for the 1st time. Trainer Hayley Burton in good form currently, and he certainly can show in this very competitive-looking mile-and-a-half handicap. 3.45 WHO'S ON FIRST - Looked good at Chelmsford last week and even a 6lb should not stop him. Newcastle 6.25 MYTHICAL NIGHT - The brilliant Jo Mason in the saddle, what's not to like? Rogue Rebellion is a big danger, mind. 6.55 PARTY BEAR - Has been running well on the sand, albeit not at Newcastle. Goes up 3lbs for winning at Lingfield a fortnight ago, but she is definitely good enough to progress further. @uncletatty A
